Enchanted summer

We took this photo on Sunday June 7, 2009 at Enchanted Rock Statet Park. That's where we introduced Luke to camping. It was his first time sleeping in a tent and visiting a park overnight. I wrote about it extensively in Tirades from a Tired Producer. We had a great time, but once we got home, we spent most of the day recovering.

Luke is out of school for the next few months, and we're adjusting to the change in the schedule. There's something comforting about having a familiar schedule, and while I enjoy having more time with him, now that we're not shuttling him to school in the morning, it's definitely an adjustment.

Our birthdays are right around the corner. Andy is embarking on a massive fitness regimine in the week leading up to his 36th birthday. To celebrate, Luke and I told him we planned to bake him a chocolate cake. As for me, I haven't planned anything special. Andy's planning to build me a box and a pullup bar for my birthday, and we're hoping to take a day off to spend the day together. Hopefully we'll have a big birthday bash with some of our friends in July.

All in all... it's hot, it's humid, it's lazy-feeling out there, and we're doing well.
